16yrs ago today, I married my best friend. We got married in our backyard with our parents present. When we said our vows we never in a million years would have envisioned all the blessings and heartaches throughout the years. From blissful beginnings to parenthood and then health scares. Through it all I’ve fallen in love deeper and deeper each day. He’s the love of my life, my best friend, our son’s father and my driving force.

Since the first time he held me I knew I would be safe. He’s been a protector and has carried me through 3 journeys with cancer. He held my hand and rubbed my foot as I gave birth to our greatest creation. Ours is the stuff of romance stories. Not the cheap paper back ones but the classics. Think Austen, Shelley and Shakespeare. And our story is far from over.

Falling in love is easy. Nurturing and caring for that love is tough. It’s not a job you can break from. But it’s the most rewarding job I know I will ever have. Chris has given me 16yrs of laughter, love and memories. If you count the dating years he’s given me over two decades. Not too shabby.
