I’ve said countless times…I’m blessed. God said “Look at that liitle smartness I created. Let’s give her a unique blend of friends that are family and make some family her best friends. Keep her guessing.” And that He did.
My tribe of friends spans multiple political views, ethnicity, sexuality and ideologies. They are a motley crew of diversity. And I love them all dearly.

Each one teaches me something new and makes me rethink my views and opinions. They make me stronger. I have two dear friends that I met through my previous employer. Beth and Tony. They used to deliver me delicious salsa and pheasant at work for lunch with a side of cookies, now they open their home and hearts to me when I need a day away.

I’m so used to seeing them every other week that these last few months of quarantine have made me realize how much I need them in my life. They relax me. They soothe my soul and they make me forget the dreaded C word for a few hours. The laughter we share is only outweighed by the love I feel for our friendship.

I can’t thank these two enough for sticking with me through every dark moment, loving me like a daughter and all of the yummy food we have shared. We seem like the most unlikely of friends but I can’t imagine my life without these two crazy souls. The best thing I walked away with from my old job wasn’t experience, it was this amazing friendship.
Thank you Beth and Tony for everything. Next week we meet for lunch and I call dibs! Love you two and Olive too! You are simply the best.
I think it’s easy to forget that someone who thinks differently than we do on a host of topics can still care deeply for us. Humanity is something we all need in our lives.
