Ever find that home away from home? That place that embraces you like a long lost friend? A few weekends ago I found mine.

Huckleberry Hideout is located in Princeton, Wi. After a long few months of battling infections, side effects, withdrawal from medication and depression; I needed to simply getaway. I just didn’t realize it. I had planned to escape for a flea market weekend with my sister a number of months ago but quite honestly I was a hairs breath away from canceling. Not wanting to disappoint my sister (still working on the no thing), I packed my bags and headed out.

As I pulled up the dirt drive way I felt my worries slip away. The old white farm house greeted me. A smile formed on my lips as I walked the property soaking it all in before I entered the home. A tree swing, fire pit for ghost stories, and old building tucked into the woods were a few gems I came across.

Walking into the home was literally walking into the heart. A beautiful farm house kitchen awaited me. The blue vinyl floors added a cheeriness to the room. The window above the kitchen sink was the coolest thing I’d ever seen. You need to see for yourself! And old stove and beautiful cabinets rounded out the room.

There are countless bedrooms, each one with handmade quilts. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. And the living invites you to snuggle into a chair with a historical book on Princeton and a cup of tea.
Our intent was to spend much of our time in Princeton and the surrounding towns. However, we found ourselves spending more time at our home away from home.

Huckleberry Hideout was the “hideout” we both needed. The home restored our weary bodies and minds. We can’t thank Naomi and her husband enough for their hospitality and kindness. If you ever are ever looking at staying in the beautiful countryside of Wisconsin I’d recommend Huckleberry Hideout! We will be returning for a girls weekend with both my sisters and my nieces! Until then follow their blog!
