Dear Evan, 10 years ago you showed your face to us and the world. With wide eyes and a healthy cry you made your announcement. We waited years for you. Years. So many prayers were finally answered. And then there you were. Our spring baby born on a Wednesday. Our little Fox. You, the perfect testament of our love.

Over the last 10yrs, you have taught us so much. I know more about dinosaurs and mammals than I thought possible. You have shown the world the face of a compassionate and emotionally intelligent young man as he stares down so much darkness and sadness with joy and laughter. Your bravery and strength inspires us to be the parents you deserve.

Never stop. Never stop loving life the way you do. Never stop questioning and pushing against those that say no you can’t. Never stop standing up for those that don’t have a voice. Never stop caring for all of God’s creatures. Never stop hugging your mom and helping your dad. Never stop being you.

They say Wednesday’s child is full of woe. Boy were they wrong. You have been smiling and whistling since I can remember. Spreading joy with every out of control jump and dino roar! Happy birthday my sweet boy. Thank you for making me a mom. I love you most infinity.
